“. . . but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance, and perseverance, character . . . .” (Romans 5: 3)
Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
God’s number one goal for each of His children is to transform us into the image of Christ. In order to do this, He often allows trials in our lives.
The purpose of trials is to push us toward Christ. Trials make us realize our need of a Savior. They show us our total helplessness without God.
Another purpose of trials is to make us patient. Patience is the undergirding of faith. The Bible commands us to allow patience to do her work in us (James 1: 4). Why? So that we may become mature and lack nothing. When patience is strong, then faith is strong; and when faith is strong, we can receive all that we need and all that God has for us.
So rejoice in the midst of your trials, for they are making you more like Jesus!
