Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
Satan is a sneak. His goal is to trip us up at every possible opportunity. Although he cannot read our minds, he can observe our behavior. In doing so, he studies and pinpoints our weak points and then takes advantage of them to trap us.
In order to preempt Satan’s attacks, God warns us always to be on our guard. This is especially important after a spiritual victory. Often after a victory, we relax and let down our guard. This is a dangerous thing to do. As with Elijah, letting down our guard after a spiritual victory can lead to depression and defeat.
We can never relax when it comes to Satan. We must always be alert and on our guard, abiding in Christ. Only Jesus can give us the wisdom and discernment we need to cut the enemy off at the pass.
