“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.'” (Isaiah 30: 21)

Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
One of the most frequent prayer requests we receive at MaryAnn Diorio Ministries International is for God’s direction and guidance in making decisions. This request reflects a heart that is truly desirous of following God.
An underlying current of this prayer request, however, is the fear of making a wrong decision. This fear can be our worst enemy in hearing and obeying God’s voice
As a recovering perfectionist, I have struggled with the fear of making a wrong decision. A few years ago, my daughter gave me some very sound advice. “Mom,” she said, “Jesus is the Shepherd, and it’s His job to lead the sheep.”
Her common-sense advice was just what I needed to set me free. I simply decided that when facing a decision, I would pray, ask God to direct me, and move forward trusting that He would, indeed, direct me. Even if I made a mistake, I could trust God to get me back on track.
So, if you’re facing a major decision today–or even a minor one–ask God to guide you. In Psalm 32: 8, He promises He will do just that. Then move forward with confidence, letting peace be your umpire (Colossians 3: 15).
If you have peace, and if your decision does not violate God’s Word in any way, you can trust that it is a wise decision. If, however, you are troubled in your spirit, simply spend more time seeking God until you do have peace.
Remember: God wants you to make the right decision more than you do. And because He is Your Shepherd, He is responsible for leading you.
Your sister in Christ,
Dr. MaryAnn Diorio
