Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
Have you ever heard someone say, “God is too good and kind to let anyone go to hell”?
This mindset is a dangerous one that has permeated our culture and is causing many people, indeed, to go to hell.
The Word of God tells us that no one is righteous, and that only through Christ can we be saved (John 14: 6). The thinking that says a good God would not send anyone to hell does not take into consideration God’s justice. Because of His justice, God cannot and will not allow sin in His Presence.
Yes, God is merciful, but He is merciful on His terms. And His terms dictate that in order to spend eternity in His presence, we must repent of our sin and acknowledge Jesus Christ as our Savior.
To assume that we can get to Heaven on our own merits is a lie straight out of the pits of hell (Ephesians 2: 8-9). And those who believe that lie will end up there.
