“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall” (Matthew 7: 26-27)

Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
The time to build your house is not in the midst of the storm, but before the storm hits. Imagine trying to build your house while hurricane-force winds are blowing.
Yet, many Christians do this very thing when it comes to the storms of life. They do not build their faith until they are faced with a crisis. Then, because their faith is weak, they often fall apart.
The time to build our faith is before the storms of life strike. Then, when the trials come–as they surely will–we will be like the man who built his house on solid rock. Nothing will be able to destroy our house. And when the storm passes, we will still be standing.
How do we build our faith? We build it by feeding on the Word of God and by obeying God. The Bible tells us that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God’ (Romans 10: 17). This means that we must continually be building our faith.
Don’t be like the foolish man who built his house on sand. Start building your faith now so when the storms of life assail you, they will be no match for your strong, rock-like faith.
