Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
When the wise men asked God whether or not they should return to Herod after having visited the Christ Child, they received an answer to their asking. That answer was, “Do not go back to Herod; go home a different way.”
The wise men asked, expecting to receive. Because they expected to receive, they did receive.
Do you pray with the expectation that you will receive an answer to your prayers?
Receiving is just as important as asking. It is a vital part of the equation of prayer. Does a farmer plant a seed without expecting a crop? Then neither should we plant the seed of prayer without expecting an answer.
