“. . . study to be quiet.” (1 Thessalonians 4: 11)

Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
We live in a world bombarded by noise from all sides. Not only is there outer noise; but there is also inner noise. Inner noise is the more dangerous.
Inner noise occurs when our thoughts focus on the world and its cares. Inner noise causes us to miss the voice of God.
God speaks in a still, small voice (1 Kings 19: 12). Unless we “study to be quiet”–that is, unless we make the effort to concentrate on hearing God within us–we will miss His voice. If we miss His voice, we will miss His will for us.
