for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)

__________________________________________________Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
Ours is a generation full of self-deception. Unfortunately, many Christians are also deceiving themselves. How? In the following ways:
1) We deceive ourselves by thinking that just because God forgives our sins, we will never have to pay the consequences of our sins. We wrongly think that God will always bail us out. While at times God, in His mercy, does spare us the consequences of our sins, this is not the norm. Yet, if we repent, He always takes the consequences of our sins and uses them for our good.
Consider David. Our Lord forgave him of murder and adultery, but David’s family suffered serious problems for years because of his sin. Yet when David repented, God brought good out of evil, and David was called “a man after God’s own heart” (I Samuel 13:14; Acts 13:22).
2) We deceive ourselves by thinking that our spiritual life is in order even though we use our tongues to bad-mouth people. James 1:26 warns us that when we can’t control our tongues, we are not being spiritual at all.
So examine your heart. Are you being deceived? If so, repent and ask God daily to keep you from deception.
Jeremiah 17:9-10–“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.”
