“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19)

Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,

It is time for the Church to rise up and take its rightful place as the Body of Christ on earth. This means that we must move into our position of authority in Christ and wield the Sword of His Spirit against the enemy.

He has given us all authority and power to do so, as our Scripture verse for this week clearly affirms. But how do we exercise our authority over the enemy? By speaking the Word of God against the enemy.

When Jesus was tempted by Satan, Jesus responded to each temptation by speaking the Word of God: “It is written . . . It is written . . . It is written . . . .” We exercise our authority over Satan in the same way.

When Satan attacks us in any way, we must resist him by telling him what is written in the Word about the attack. For instance, if we are attacked with sickness, we must say, “Satan, it is written that I was healed by the stipres of Jesus” (I Peter 2: 24). If we are attacked with financial problems, we must say, “Satan, it is written that my God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippans 4: 19).

Are you trampling over all the power of the enemy, or is the enemy trampling all over you? Are you using the authority Jesus has given you? If not, why not?

Remember that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54: 17) as long as you use your authority in Christ to deflect the weapon.

Your sister in Christ,
