Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
Have you ever meditated on this week’s Scripture verse? I mean really meditated on it? The Word is telling us that we have the mind of Christ.
Let’s think about this for a moment. Is Christ’s mind troubled in any way? No. Is Christ’s mind confused, indecisive, or forgetful? No. Does Christ’s mind experience “senior moments”? No!
Then neither should our minds be troubled, confused, indecisive, forgetful, or fraught with “senior moments”!
Why, then, do believers succumb to worry, confusion, indecisiveness, and “senior moments”? Because we have not renewed (or re-programmed) our minds according to Christ’s mind which is His Word. On the contrary, we even joke about having “senior moments” or about being chronic worriers, tehreby reinforcing these negative thought patterns in our lives. My brothers and sisters, this should not be!
The Word is the anchor that keeps our minds steady, stable, and at peace. Wh en we nourish our minds with the Word of God, our minds take on the nature of Christ’s mind. His Word transforms our minds, causing us to think, speak, and act like Jesus.
When we think, speak, and act like Jesus, we don’t go around saying things like, “I’m going senile,” or “I can never remember names,” or “I’m having a senior moment.” Can you imagine Jesus saying those things?
Well, if He wouldn’t say them, then neither should we! Why? Because we are to imitate Him. Moreover, we shouldn’t be saying such things because we will eventually get what we say.
So, begin saying that you have the mind of Christ. And keep on saying it. Before long, you will notice that your memory is becoming sharper and your thinking is becoming clearer.
