Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
God’s way of doing things is usually the exact opposite of our way (Isaiah 55: 9). For instance, our natural tendency is to return evil for evil. In our Scripture verse for this week, however, God commands us to return good for evil.
More than that, He says that good will overcome evil. To overcome means to achieve dominion over, to conquer. What our Lord is saying is that when we return good for evil, that evil will lose its power over our lives. We will conquer it.
Let’s encourage one another always to do things God’s way. His way never fails. Our way, unless it’s lined up with His way, always does.
