Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
Are you depressed or discouraged today? Do you feel that there is no way out of your problem? If so, let our Scripture verse for this week encourage you.
When we are depressed, our heads hang low. When our heads hang low, our gaze is fixed downward on the problem, not upward on the promise of God that will help us solve the problem. When we focus on the problem and not on the promise, we are walking in unbelief. When we walk in unbelief, we cannot receive the answer from God because it takes faith to receive from God (Mark 11: 24).
Depression is one of Satan’s chief weapons against us. Why? Because depression robs us of our joy. Since the joy of the Lord is our strength, when we give in to depression, we allow Satan to rob us of our spiritual strength. Without our spiritual strength, our faith level will drop, and we will not be able to win the battle against the enemy.
When depression strikes, counter it with praise. You may not feel like praising the Lord, but do it anyway. The Lord inhabits the praises of His people, and when you praise Him, He comes on the scene to deliver you.
Let the Lord lift up your head today. Praise Him in the midst of your trial and watch Him deliver you!
