Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,

Do you take Jesus at His word? Do you believe without question everything He speaks to you through the Scriptures and to your heart? If not, your unbelief is very likely the reason that you are not receiving all that God has for you.

When Satan first tempted Eve, his strategy was to get her to question the truth of what God had spoken to her (Genesis 3:1; 4-5). This temptation was a direct attack on the integrity of God's character.

Satan still does the same thing today. He tries to get us to question the truth of what we read in the Scriptures and of what God speaks to our hearts. How does Satan do this? By putting thoughts into our minds--thoughts that contradict the Word.

For example, the Word of God says that you were healed by the stripes of Jesus
(1 Peter 2:24). Satan challenges that Word by saying to you, "How can you be healed? You're still in pain." It is at this point of temptation that we must make a choice. Will we believe Satan's lie or will we take God at His Word?

The man who took Jesus at His word saw his dying son healed. Why? Because he chose to believe what Jesus said rather than what circumstances screamed at him.

The voice of Christ is soft and quiet. We must focus inwardly to hear it. The voice of Satan is loud and strident. It screams pain, debt, and fear.

Whose voice will you choose to listen to? I urge you to listen to the voice of Christ. Start taking Jesus at His word. When you do, you will see mountains move and life prevail.

Your sister in Christ,
Dr. Mary Ann Diorio
