“. . . we are . . . joint heirs with Christ . . . .” (Romans 8: 16-17)
Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
If you’re a married woman like me, you probably send out birthday and anniversary cards in the name of both you and your husband. If your husband is like mine, he leaves this task to me and doesn’t concern himself with it.
If necessary, I’ll let him know to hwom I sent a card, so that if he runs into the recipient, he will not be taken by surprise if the recipient comments on the card. Usually, however, my husband isn’t interested in knowing.
I am free to sign my husband’s name to a card because I have power of attorney to do so. Likewise, as Blood-bought children of Jesus Christ, we have power of attorney to sign our names to all the blessings Jesus earned for us. These blessings are like blank checks that need to be cashed in order to be userful.
What do you need today from God? Whatever is it, He’s left you a blank check for it. Just fill in the check with your need and sign your name to it. When you take it to the Father, He will recognize and acknowledge that His Son has given you power of attorney to sign the check. The Father will honor your check because you present it in the Name of His Son.
Remember: we are joing heirs with Christ. What’s His is ours, and what’s ours is His–totally and completely.
