Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,

Fear is the enemy of faith. For this reason, Satan attacks us with fear. He knows that fear will neutralize our faith and render it ineffective.

Fear is a demonic spirit. It attacks the mind with anxiety-causing thoughts that create the emotion of fear.

The Word of God tells us that God has not given us the spirit of fear. On the contrary, He has given us the spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1: 7).

A sound mind does not allow fearful thoughts to enter it. A sound mind protets itself against the onslaughts of fear. A sound mind resists fear and chooses to focus on thinking and living a life of love.

A sound mind is a powerful mind–a mind submitted to the Lordship of Christ. This submission enables the person of sound mind to resist the devil, thus causing him to flee (James 4: 7).

When God commands us not to fear, He is implying that fear is a decision. God would not ask us to do something we cannot to.

If you are facing fear today, resist it with the Word of God. That Word is the Sword of the Sholy Spirit that will pierce the demonic spirit of fear and send him running.

Your sister in Christ,

Dr. MaryAnn Diorio
