Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,

Anything that stands in the way of our relationship with God is sin. The barrier could be–and often is for Christians–the ministry our Lord has given us.

We tend to fall into the lie that working for God is our foremost priority. So we become involved in all kinds of church activities. We assume positions that rob us of the precious time required to build an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Before we know it, we feel frazzled, frustrated, and fatigued!

This is not God’s way. God desires nothing more than time with us. Indeed, our primary purpose on this earth is to develop an intimate relationships with God through Christ. Any activity in which we engage must be an outflow of that relationship.

Our God is a jealous God, and He will allow no other gods before Him or besides Him. So let us examine our hearts and ask ourselves if our relationship with God is truly the most important thing in our lives. If it is not, it is time to make it so.

Your sister in Christ,

Dr. MaryAnn Diorio
