Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
Several years ago, my daughter was driving our family van in which my husband was the only passenger. As they approached an intersection, my husband noticed an 18-wheeler barreling toward them and yelled, “Stop!”
Not realizing what was happening, my daughter instantly obeyed and slammed her foot on the brake. The van missed the 18-wheeler by only a few inches. My daughter’s instant heeding of her father’s warning saved both of their lives.
God also warns us of imminent danger. His warnings may come in a variety of ways: through a pastor, a spouse, a teacher, or a friend. Most of all, however, God’s warnings come through His Word and through His Holy Spirit within us.
Are you heeding the warnings of the Holy Spirit in your life? Are you encouraging fellow believers to heed the warnings of the Holy Spirit in their lives? Are you telling those outside the Body of Christ of the dangers that await them if they do not heed the warnings of the Holy Spirit?
Let us pray for ears to hear the warnings of God and for the courage and grace to heed them.
Your Sister in Christ,
Dr. MaryAnn Diorio
