“Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:1)
Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
Knowing God depends on being still, or quiet, before Him. Being quiet before God means making the time to sit at His feet, listening to what He wants to say to us. It means ceasing from doing all the talking and letting God do the talking.
If we allow ourselves continually to be caught up in the “busyness” of life, we will never get to know God. The distractions of life are one of Satan’s chief tools to draw us away from God. C.S. Lewis wrote an excellent book called The Screwtape Letters that deals with this very topic of Satan’s devices of distraction.
Nothing is more important than spending time with God. So, remember: If you are too busy to spend time with God, you are too busy.
