Precious Disciple of Jesus Christ, the Daystar,
Obedience is the key to experiencing Christ’s abundant life. While we all received abundant life when we accepted Jesus as our Savior, that life will lie dormant within us unless we obey God’s commandments.
To obey is to accept Jesus not only as Savior but also as Lord. According to Webster, a lord is “one having power and authority over others; a ruler to whom service and obedience are due.”
Are you obeying our Lord Jesus/ Are you obeying everything that He commands in His Word? Are you obeying what He tells you to do on a day-by-day basis?
Perhaps you feel that it’s impossible to obey God. If so, you’re right. It is impossible for us in the natural. But we are in Christ, and He has given us the grace and the power to obey Him. Trust in that grace. Lean on that power.
Obedience opens the way for God to release His blessings into our lives. We need to obey God not for His sake, but for ours. Most of all, we need to obey God simply because we love Him.
Knowledge of God’s commandments will not produce victory in your life. Living God’s commandments will.
